The Creative Journey
The act of creation is as profound as it is delightful. If creation is the work of gods then to create is to have experience of the divine. The world is transformed in ways big and small when something new comes into it.
An original creation is snapshot of the creator. It is an expression of what makes each of us unique because each creative decision is shaped by everything the creator has done and thought, consciously and subconsciously, over the course of a lifetime.
"Flow occurs when creative ideas move from the subconscious, through the conscious mind, and out into the world."
About Dahven
Dahven is a multi-media artist and writer now living in the Baltimore area. She grew up in Nova Scotia and worked as an architect before discovering felted wool as an artistic medium. She now works primarily with brushed wool, shrinking natural fibers and recycled sweaters to create unpredictable three-dimensional organic shapes. Her art and wearables have been featured in many juried exhibitions and art shows.
Dahven works with small groups of people to encourage them to seek their artistic potential. More creativity is available to everyone. Dahven's tools help people to tap the boundless creative resources of the subconscious and develop creative confidence. When ideas flow freely, the creator can experience a spiritual connection to themselves, to others, and to a greater whole.
